Covington Ind -- Guy H. Stockdale, 78 of 905 Orchard Drive, Covington died at 11:28 a.m. Friday Nov 14, 1975 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He had been a patient two weeks and had been ill 11 years. Mr. Stockdale had farmed in the Scotts Prairie and Hillsboro communities until he retired to Covington in 1964. He had been active in community affairs and served as assessor of Millcreek Township for 10 years. He also had been reproter and supervisor for the ASCS program in Fountain County for 32 years. He was a member of the Scotts Prairie Church. Born Nov 3, 1897 in the Scotts Prairie community in Fountain County, he was the son of George B. and Ella Booe Stockdale. He was married Jan 1, 1919 to Leona Marie Wilson who died Nov 15, 1940. He was married Jan 6, 1942 to Bertha Neese Wells who survives. Other survivors include 3 sons; Harold of Veedersburg Rt 2; George of LaMesa, Calif and Gale of Cates; two daughters Mrs. Verna ? of San Diego, Calif and Mrs. Sandra McKinney of Hillsboro Rt 1; a brother, Ralph of Crawfordsville; 13 grandchildren and a great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Services will be at 2 p.m Monday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, The Rev. Dorman Winger will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2-5 and 7-9 Sunday. - kbz
